Time Line

The Timeline. Lakenheath’s Story.

The timeline begins in 670AD when Ely Monastery was founded.  At present it arrives at 1948AD.  The intention is to continue it to the present day.

Sources are acknowledged after the stories in parts 2 and 4.  I must however particularly mention Matthew Champion of MJC Associates for permission to link to the Lakenheath Wall Paintings Project, and David Yaxley of the Larks Press for permission to reproduce page 2 of the Larks Press edition of Hodskinson’s map of Suffolk and Moyse’s Hall Museum. St Edmundsbury Heritage Service for permission to reproduce the photograph of the gibbet.

Our work continues. All errors are mine.
David Jones.
Lakenheath Heritage Group.
